GetWebPartProperties Use Example
In this example, we are going to be looking at a page that is displaying a list of items with item information and the option to add the items to your cart.
This page has a container webpart (WPT-10001311) that has a list section that contains another webpart (WPT-10000698).
Here is the parent WebPart. You will see it only contains the child webpart in a list section in order to create the desired visual effect.
This container webpart has a datasource that is returning multiple items. The list section that contains the thumbnail item WebPart (WPT-10000698) and treats this child WebPart as a list item. It will display the WebPart for each item that is returned by the datasource.
We are passing the ItemNumber that is returned by the datasource to WPT-10000698 In the “Filter 1 Name” and “Filter 1 Value” property within the Entity Property node.
Here is the child WebPart.
Within this child WebPart or Item Thumbnail WebPart (WPT-10000698), the “ItemInfo” process datasource, runs the GetWebPartProperties service.
In the GetWebPartProperties service, we are retrieving the Filter1Value property which will retrieve the ItemNumber value that we passed from the container or parent WebPart.
Finally, we use this value to query the EC_Item_Master table and pull all of the information that is needed for the thumbnail display.
