MoveDirectory Overview

The MoveDirectory service moves the directory to target location. This is useful when you move your files to another place. Instead of using multiple services like CreateDirectory, ReadFiles and WriteFiles, you can just use MoveDirectory to move everything to target location. All the sub directories and files will be moved to target location.

MoveDirectory Use Examples

MoveDirectory Use Example

Basic MoveDirectory Use

In this example, we have one folder and two files under D:\TestDirectory\File. We want to move the directory to D:\TestDirectory_new\File. Currently, there is no subdirectory under D:\TestDirectory_new.

The service takes the following input. Service returns ‘True’ since it runs successfully, and you can see the directory has been moved.

If the directory in ‘ToDirectory’ field exists, service will throw the following exception.
